A picture is a type of shape designed to display images. The images displayed in a picture shape are stored in the picture repository as PictureData objects. (See Accessing Global Resources in the Working with Presentations chapter earlier in this Guide for more about the picture repository).

The library supports all of the same image formats as PowerPoint, i.e. Windows Enhanced Metafile (EMF), Windows Metafile (WMF), Macintosh pictures (PICT), Joint Photographic Experts Group JFIF (JPEG), Portable Network Graphics (PNG) and Window's Device Independent Bitmap (DIB or BMP).
